Materials & Tools:
Aran Weight Yarn, Black
(Red Heart Super Saver, “Black”)
- Aran Weight Yarn, Red (Red Heart Super Saver, “Burgundy”)
- Crochet Hook, Size “E” (3.5 mm)
- Pair Of Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- For an even smaller size, use crochet thread and a size “B” hook
Abbreviations Used:
- mag circ: magic circle
- prev: previous
- ch: chain
- lp: loop
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- CC: change colors
- yo: yarn over
- sl st: slip stitch
- *: repeat
Rows:


2. Continue
using black. Inc every st of row (sc 2 times into each st).
Into each red st of prev row, sc only into back lps. Sl st to 1st st of row. Cut off yarn (16 sts total)
3. If desired, cut off long tail of red yarn and outline red sts to create more defined hourglass shape. Sew in remaining ends. Base of spider finished.
4. Continue using black. Note: Every st in this row worked into same st.

5. To
create mandibles: Ch 4. Sl st to 3rd ch from hook. Sl
st into next ch. Ch 4 more. Sl st to 3rd ch from hook. Sl
st to next ch.


ch 12, sl st into 2nd ch from
hook and into remaining chs.** Sl
st into next st around base.
Continue
around base. Sl st 7 into sts around base before creating spinnerets. (In the pic it says mandibles, it's supposed to say spinnerets)
