Free Spider Web Crochet Pattern


Abbreviations:

  • sl kn (slip knot) 
  • ch (chain) 
  • sl st (slip stitch) 
  • st (stitch) 
  • sc (single crochet) 
  • hdc (half double crochet) 
  • dc (double crochet) 
  • tc (treble crochet) 
  • dtc (double treble crochet) 
  • ttc (triple treble crochet)




  1. Create sl kn (counts as 1st ch). Ch 5. Sl st to 1st ch to create circle.
  2. Ch 3 (counts as 1st st & ch of row, mark as 1st st using st marker). Hdc 1 and ch 2, 7-9 more times into circle formed by chs in previous row. Sl st around post of 1st st of row.
  3. Ch 5 (counts as 1st st & chs of row; mark with st marker). Dc 1 around each of the posts of st from previous row. Ch 3 between each dc except after last dc.
  4. Ch 5. Tc around post of 1st st of last row. Ch 5. Tc 1 around each of the posts of sts from previous row. Ch 5 between each tc except after last tc.
  5. Ch 7. Dtc around post of 1st st of last row. Ch 7. Dtc 1 around each of the posts of sts from previous row. Ch 7 between each of dtc except after last dtc.
  6. Continue pattern as desired. On last row, ch 4 and sc 2 into the bottom of that ch, at the top of each st.
  7. For example: Ch 9. Ttc around post of 1st st of last row. Ch 4. Sc 1 into 4th ch from hook. Sc 1 into just-made ttc. Ch 9. Ttc 1 around each of the posts of sts from previous row. Ch 4, sc 1 into 4th ch from hook, and sc 1 into each ttc. Ch 9 between each of ttc. Sl st to 1st st of row to end row. Cut off yarn, sew in end.
  8. If desired, sew last row around a wire to add structure.
