Santa or Witch Hat Tutorial

Find the video tutorial at the bottom of the page.

Pointed hat made to fit my basic amigurumi doll pattern, or my realistic body amigurumi doll pattern, but easy to customize to any size doll, or even to a full size hat for a person.
Use this pattern to make a Santa hat, a wizard hat, a witch hat, or an elf hat.

For the witch/wizard hat, a thicker yarn (Aran weight) is better, because it will give more support to the cone shape to make it stand up easier.

For the Santa/elf hat, a thinner yarn (crochet thread) works better, because the hat won’t be as stiff and will lay down easier.

I also used Aran weight yarn for a full size Santa hat.

Fitted Doll Shirt Pattern+Tutorial

Basic fitted style doll shirt with optional bust and sleeves. Made to fit my basic amigurumi doll pattern, or my realistic body amigurumi doll pattern, but easy to customize to any size doll.
Worked either in rows or in the round. If making for a doll with a large head, you might want to work in rows and sew the shirt onto the doll afterward, to make it easier to get the shirt on the doll.
For best results, use light weight yarn. This is so that less bulk is added to the doll.
I used scrap yarn for my project, since the doll I was making the shirt for was so small. If you’re making your shirt for a much larger doll, you may need more yarn.

Crochet Skeleton Video Tutorial + Pattern

Realistic amigurumi skeleton doll pattern is a little advanced. If you’re familiar with making amigurumi dolls, this pattern will be fairly simple. But for a beginner it can be complex.
Use Aran weight yarn in white for the bulk of the doll, and a little bit of black Aran weight yarn for some of the detail. Worsted weight may be used but you may want to use a smaller hook (like a size B) to maintain the proper tension, and the doll might come out smaller. I used about a fourth of a small skein of white Red Heart yarn for my doll. And I used scrap black yarn for the black parts.
If you want you could also use crochet thread or embroidery floss to sew on more detail.

How to Crochet a Mermaid Doll

How to make a mermaid tail for your amigurumi dolls. Find the pattern in my Ravelry store!

This style of mermaid has a textured scaly tail, and is way easier to customize than the other mermaid tutorial I made last year. In that video I used puff stitches to make the tail look scaly (which did work, but I wasn't satisfied with how it came out). I'm really happy with how these mermaids came out!

This mermaid doll tail goes with the upper body doll tutorial I posted last week. Find that tutorial here:

I used sea stars as clothes for my doll. Here's my sea star tutorial:
