I used “cherry red” yarn for the petals; and “spring green” yarn for the stem and leaves, both from Red Heart brand. But you can use whatever color you like.
I also used a thinner yarn I made, by splitting apart the red yarn, to make the inner petals of my flower. You don’t have to do this, but I think using the thinner yarn just looks better, and that’s the best way to make sure the colors are a perfect match. If you prefer, use crochet thread instead for that part.
I also used 30 gauge craft wire to support the stem and leaves.

You can use pretty much any yarn, or hook size, to make this project.
Just bear in mind that using a larger hook or yarn size will make a larger applique, and using a smaller yarn or hook size will make a smaller applique.
Using a thicker yarn, like worsted weight yarn, will create a shape that’s more dense;
but using a thinner yarn, like a lace weight yarn, will result in a more lacy shape.
So use whatever size you think works best for your project. This applique uses very little yarn, so it’s a perfect use for scraps.

This design is similar to my “Realistic Body Doll” pattern I made several years ago, which has a thinner body type. I used Aran weight yarn. Worsted weight may be used but you may want to use a smaller hook (like a size B) to maintain the proper tension. I used much less than a skein of Red Heart brand yarn in “Cafe Latte” for my doll, but if you’re making a much larger doll or using a smaller skein, you may need more yarn. You can use pretty much any color in any aran or worsted weight yarn. I used “Cafe Latte” for the doll in the tutorial, and the other doll pictured was made using “Warm Brown”.
I also used a yarn needle and some extra yarn to shape the body. Tutorial for this is coming soon! You can see the difference in the body shape between the 2 dolls pictured; the “Warm Brown” doll (the lighter shade) has been shaped with sewing, and the “Cafe Latte” doll (the darker shade) hasn’t been shaped yet.
I used a wire skeleton made of craft wire to give my doll structure, and an ability to stay in more interesting poses. You can forgo the skeleton if you wish, but if you make the doll’s neck too small without some kind of reinforcement, the head will probably droop, so just add a bit of a wire or a pipe cleaner to the neck.

Mario inspired mini mushroom charms! These are super cute and quick to make, and its a great use for scrap yarn. Instructions for both styles (the one with spots and the one with the skull) given in pattern!

I used Red Heart worsted weight yarns in Red, Aran and White to make the red mushroom, and switched out the red for Amethyst to make the purple one, and Spring Green for the green one.
To create these charms, you’ll actually need to use crochet thread weight yarn instead. I kind of prefer to use the worsted weight yarn, though, because of the color variety. I split the Red Heart yarn in half to make crochet thread weight yarn out of worsted weight yarn. You can see how I did this in the video tutorial, but if you want to make your life easier you can skip this step and just use crochet thread, or you could also use embroidery floss.
I also used some black thread to embroider on the eyes, and a metal clasp to turn my mushrooms into charms. You could also use an earring hook, or a jump ring, or a keychain for these charms.

Super simple beginner friendly crocheted flower patterns. I used craft wire inside all my flower to make them more realistic and able to stand up. A free video tutorial for each of these flowers is coming soon on my Youtube channel. Will update when video is available.

Next is the pansy flower. I used 4 colors of Red Heart yarn for my daisies; yellow for the middle of the flower, dark purple for the base of the petals, hot pink for the tops of the petals, magenta for the back petals, and spring green for the stem and leaves. And finally an amigurumi fire flower inspired by the Mario games. I used 5 colors of Red Heart yarn for my fire flower; white for the face at the middle of the flower, yellow for the base of the petals, red for the tops of the petals, black for the eyes, and spring green for the stem and leaves.

Amigurumi Yoshi doll inspired by the Mario games. I tried to make this doll as accurate to the way the character looks in the games as possible, and I think I did a pretty good job. You can find the pattern on Ravelry here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/yoshi-amigurumi-7

I used Spring Green and White from Red Heart Super Saver for the classic Yoshi color, but of course you can be really creative with this pattern and make yours any color you like. I also made one in Bubblegum pink, and I’m working on one in Royal Blue. I used a size E hook and aran weight yarn, you might be able to use a smaller hook and a thinner yarn, like a light worsted weight and a size B hook, to make an even smaller, cuter doll.
I also used craft wire to make my doll pose-able. You can see from the pictures that this doll holds it’s poses very well. If you’re planning on making this doll for a baby or small child, don’t use any wire in your doll.
This is a bit of an intermediate to advanced level design. It's fully customizable, and you can find a bunch of hair tutorials for dolls on my channel, to customize your centaur doll even more.
For the doll above, I used “Buff” (Red Heart Super Saver) for the doll upper body, “Aran” (Red Heart Super Saver) for the horse body, “Charcoal” (Red Heart Super Saver) to make the hooves, and a combination of “Charcoal” and “Black” (Red Heart Super Saver) to make the tail and hair. For the doll below, I used “Heather”(Loops & Threads) for the body, “Rust” (Vanna’s Choice) and “White” (Red Heart Super Saver) for the horse body, “Black” (Red Heart Super Saver) for the hooves and a combination of “Rust”, and “Toast” (Red Heart Soft) for the tail and hair. You can use any color to customize your doll.

You can use pretty much any yarn for this project, but bear in mind that the rose will be bigger using a thicker yarn, and smaller using a thinner yarn. I used “Cherry Red” and “Hunter Green from Red Heart Super Saver for the flower I made in the video tutorial, but you can use any color yarn you choose.
I also used a size E hook but again, using a larger hook will result in a larger, lacier flower, while a smaller hook will create a smaller flower.
I made my roses about 24 inches long (4 inch long petals, 20 inch long stem), but if you prefer a shorter bouquet you can make the stems shorter.
Crochet princess dress with puffed sleeves and overskirt. Pattern includes instructions for my Realistic Body Amigurumi doll, my Basic amigurumi doll, and a Barbie style doll size. This pattern is really easy to customize to any size doll. Find the free video tutorial at the bottom of the page!
You could make just about any style of princess dress with this technique by changing out the colors of any part of the dress, using different styles of sleeves, or different fullness of skirts. Realistic muscular crochet doll pattern. A free video tutorial is available on my Youtube channel athttps://youtube.com/c/faerierings or you can find the video at the bottom of the page.
Specific instructions given for a 14-inch tall doll, but the pattern is easy to customize to any size doll. Pattern is a little advanced. If you’re familiar with making amigurumi dolls, this pattern will be fairly simple. But for a beginner it can be complex.
Use Aran weight yarn. Worsted weight may be used but you may want to use a smaller hook (like a size B) to maintain the proper tension
I used much less than a skein of Red Heart brand yarn in “Cafe Latte” for my doll, but if you’re making a much larger doll or using a smaller skein, you may need more yarn.
Crochet costume bunny ears pattern. I made a pair of large, wearable ears, but you can use this technique to make a pair of ears in any size. You can find this pattern in my Ravelry store! Buy it now! Or check out the free video tutorial at the bottom of the page.
I used Loops & Threads Impeccable in Soft Pink for the inner ear, and Red Heart Super Saver in White for the outer ear. But you can use any color you like. After making the ears, they can be either worn with pins in the hair, which is what I did for the pictures shown, or they can be sewn onto another project.
To pin in my hair, I used one barrette each at the back of the ear, and two bobby pins at each side of the ear. I just stuck the pins straight through the holes in the stitches. Also, my hair is really short, so I’m sure it’d be really easy to do if you have longer hair.
Or you could sew the ears to a beanie, hoodie or cowl, or to a doll.
I also used craft wire to make a wire skeleton for the ears, so they can stand straight up.

Made to fit my basic amigurumi doll pattern, or my realistic body amigurumi doll pattern, but easy to customize to any size doll. Worked in rows.
I used worsted weight yarn and a size E hook to make my project, but if you want to make a lighter sweater, you could use a thinner yarn. You might need to use a larger hook, or add more rows, to make up for the size difference. I used a size G hook.
I used scrap yarn for my project, since the doll I was making the sweater for was so small. If you’re making your coat for a much larger doll, you may need more yarn.
